WELCOME TO SIPZ
BRANDING PRESENTATION

Sipz Dirty Sodas is rooted in nostalgia — a playful nod to drive-ins, striped straws, clinking ice, and the joy of something unapologetically fun.

The brand look leans into classic soda culture through a blue-led palette that instantly signals refreshment, familiarity, and trust, while still feeling bold and ownable on shelf.

Two visual directions explore this idea from different angles:
one embracing a softer, retro-leaning aesthetic that feels timeless and comforting, and the other pushing into a sharper, edgier interpretation of retro — cleaner lines, stronger contrast, and a more modern attitude.

Together, they show how Sipz can honour the past while feeling unmistakably current.

With this route, we wanted to explore a playful, traditional typeface with an almost old-school charm, one that evokes a sense of nostalgia and the feeling of discovering a new summer favourite. The wordmark has been carefully hand-crafted and paired with three complementary typefaces that add energy, personality, and fun to the brand. The colour palette is inspired by sunny Cape Town summers, designed to spark joy and instantly connect with the consumer. Overall, the look and feel is bold, playful, and full of character, brought to life through cute, flavour-led illustrations and fun, cheeky phrases that invite customers in.

Sipz Dirty Sodas blends classic soda nostalgia with a bold, contemporary edge. Inspired by vintage soda culture and street-level indulgence, this route uses expressive handwritten typography, stamp-style graphics, and saturated blues to create something instantly familiar yet unapologetically modern.

The retro cues ground the brand in authenticity, while gritty textures, confident statements, and real-world imagery give it attitude and relevance. The result is a brand that feels fun, indulgent, and rebellious — proudly positioning Sipz as the dirtiest sodas in Cape Town, without trying too hard or explaining itself.
